ProctorU CSO Honored at BHM Biz Event

ProctorU co-founder and chief strategy officer, Jarrod Morgan, was honored as part of BHM Biz Magazine’s 20 for the Next 20 Awards recognizing “20 of Birmingham’s most outstanding business leaders who have begun to impact and will continue to lead our community for the next two decades.”

Morgan and 19 of Birmingham’s most influential business leaders were presented these awards at a private event held at the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts in Birmingham, Ala., on Oct. 20.

“It’s an honor to be named among business leaders that I admire so much,” Morgan said. “The event was a reminder to me of how special the City of Birmingham has become, and how much I love being a part of this community.”

Morgan is the a co-founder of ProctorU and was the company’s first proctor. He created the initial prototype of the service to fill a need for Andrew Jackson University, where he served as director of technology. He works out of ProctorU’s Birmingham, Ala., office where he coordinates the marketing and partnership aspects of the company.

ProctorU provides distance proctoring services for colleges, universities and certification organizations that offer examinations online. The service allows students to take their exams from nearly anywhere in a secured environment. ProctorU uses a patent-pending three-step process that confirms that the student who registered for the exam is the student who is taking the exam and is following the institution’s testing requirements. The service is modeled after the in-classroom experience and proctors monitor the entire process in order to ensure that a high level of integrity is maintained throughout the exam process. ProctorU offers live, person-to-person, real-time monitoring to nearly 1,000 colleges, universities and certification organizations, including the University of Alabama, the University of Florida and Northwestern University.
